A full line of certified high performance ceilings, to achieve the best technical efficiency in all areas of application, from controlled atmosphere environments such as clean rooms and operating theaters, to commonly used spaces, now considered at risk of contamination, such as clinics, schools, kindergartens, nursing homes, hotels, restaurants, offices, shops, spas and sports centers.

Atena H+ products is a complete range of systems properly conceived for hospitals, chemical, pharmaceutical and microelectronics industries where an high degree of healthiness, safety and environmental comfort is required. A full line of certified high performance ceilings, to achieve the best technical efficiency in all areas of application, from controlled atmosphere environments such as clean rooms and operating theaters, to commonly used spaces, now considered at risk of contamination, such as clinics, schools, kindergartens, nursing homes, hotels, restaurants, offices, shops, spas and sports centers.
Used for the microelectronics industry, where even dust particles can compromise the product quality, clean rooms are based on laminar forced convection flow of filtered air in a sealed room. “Clean Rooms” are controlled atmosphere environments in terms of pressure, humidity and particulate pollution, classified on the basis of 0.5μm microparticles count in a defined volume of air. Smaller is the particles quantity detected, cleaner is the room and lower is the class (ISO-5 ISO-6 etc.).
In these rooms the air cleanliness, is absolutely superior than in an operating theater.
The UNI 11425: 2011 standard defines that the “operating theater At-Rest conditions (no surgical activity), must be at least in ISO 5 class for complex surgical interventions (…), ISO 7 for low invasiveness surgical interventions (…), ISO 8 for short-term surgery”.

In these rooms the air cleanliness, is absolutely superior than in an operating theater.
The UNI 11425: 2011 standard defines that the “operating theater At-Rest conditions (no surgical activity), must be at least in ISO 5 class for complex surgical interventions (…), ISO 7 for low invasiveness surgical interventions (…), ISO 8 for short-term surgery”.

In a ISO 2 class chamber, in a m3 of air at most 100 particles with a diameter greater than 0.1 micron, 24 with a diameter greater than 0.2 micron, 10 with a diameter greater than 0.3 micron, 4 with a diameter greater than 0.5 microns must be contained. From 3rd to 9th class the parameters set increase by 10 times.

MATROX A TENUTA | Airtight ceilings
The metal ceilings air-tight performance is an important factor to prevent the exchange of gaseous agents between the plenum and the environment, in order to ensure the contamination control and the maintenance of the thermo-hygrometric conditions required. All airtight systems of Atena H+ range, 24 | 35 Syncro Evo, Matrox a Tenuta, Enigma Syncro XL a Tenuta are conceived for air tightness. Among these the MATROX A TENUTA ceiling was tested by the t2i Laboratory – trasferimento tecnologico e innovazione s.c.ar.l. according to ASME MCF-14M | UNI EN ISO 5167-1 using a computerized semiautomatic control and a measurement system which determine both the air flow rate using differential pressure devices and the pressure level inside the test chamber. As a technical standard for the air-tight measurement has not been defined, the t2i Laboratory – trasferimento tecnologico e innovazione s.c. a r.l. has adopted the procedures set in ASME MFC-14M – fluid flow measurement using small diameter precision orifice meters and UNI EN ISO 5167-1 – flow rate measurement using differential pressure devices inserted in ducts with a full circular section.

In +200 Pa positive pressure condition test showed 11,19 of losses on total surface, and 10,36 in +200 Pa negative pressure condition.


DEFENCE H+ | Antimicrobial treatment | Chemical resistance
In addition to those aspects strictly related to air tightness, equal attention must be paid to the choice of ceilings’ materials. In this field to achieve a total quality, for the production of health care systems, Atena uses DEFENSE H+, a complete series of steel and aluminum materials with specific antimicrobial properties that prevent the proliferation of pathogens. Tested for different spectra of agents according to ISO 22196 | JIS Z 2801-2010 from independent laboratories, DEFENSE H+, materials have shown a reduction in microbial activity > 99% after 24 hours of exposure. (Information on the specifically tested bacterial spectrum is available upon request.).

The DEFENSE H4+ range of antimicrobial post-painted galvanized steel materials have been tested by the Fraunhofer Institute IPA in Stuttgart according to VDI 2083 PART 17 standards; ISO 4628-1; ISO2812-1. The results shown excellent properties of resistance to chemical corrosion, therefore are suitable for disinfection. Tests, in fact, were conducted with concentration levels of the reagents and exposure times (1/3/6/24 hours) higher than the normal cleaning processes with diluted disinfectants.

SEISMIC SAFETY
According to NTC 2018 standards, in all buildings with public and strategic functions, ceilings must be conceived to withstand the action of the earthquake in order to guarantee the limit state of life safeguarding, they are therefore subjected to the safety checks of civil constructions and require precise calculations in relation to the building features and the geographic coordinates of the site, which are unique for each project.
In this field Atena is present for over twenty years with patented technical solutions for the ceiling seismic engineering.
Today all false ceilings can be reinforced against the seismic force, thorough the application of Atena Antiseismic Kit, properly conceived to dissipate the seismic energy preventing the system fall.
In this field Atena offers a specialized technical consulting and releases a specific antiseismic report, where numbers and types of reinforced elements are indicated, according to the false ceiling features and the seismic area of the site.
The report complies with the technical standards, for test and anti-seismic certification of the building.

To release the antiseismic report for the installation of an antiseismic suspended ceiling Atena S.p.A. requires the following information:
> Location and intended use of building;
> Type of construction of the building and floors (masonry, ca …) where false ceilings will be installed;
> Updated plans and sections 1:100 (paper or CAD) of the areas;

ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARD | EPD, Leed, C.A.M. compliance
All Atena products comply with the Ministerial Decree of 11 October 2017 regarding the requirements for the assignment of design services and works for the new construction, renovation and maintenance of public buildings. On request, Atena releases all documents required by the main contractors for public tender such as EPD, LEED and C.A.M. declarations, the recycled content is accurately calculated for each component of the ceiling system and declared according to the ISO 14021 standard. In order to comply with the current green and safety procurement, Atena over the years has invested in production process and product certifications, so today Atena has reached an important milestone by obtaining the Environmental Product Certification (EPD) for all the T profiles of the Atena Steel Strong range, for the metal ceiling systems of Atena Metal Modular range including 24 Syncro Evo and Matrox a Tenuta hospital models, included a wide range of Atena Metal Series staves.
Through the EPD 2020 program the environmental impacts of the Atena systems were processed according to the General Program Instructions for International EPD® System version 3.01. dated 18-09-2019 and in compliance with PCR N ° 2019: 14 V 1.1 Construction products and services EN 15804 – CPC code 4219 “From the cradle to the gate with options”. The environmental impacts of products listed in EPD are, therefore, described in the Environmental Product Declaration, a III Type declaration verified by RINA SERVICE and approved by International EPD® System.
